The Meteorological Office has advised that the Tropical Storm Watch (TSW) issued yesterday has now been lifted.<\/p>

The danger from Tropical Storm Philippe has passed, except for some rain bands and intermittent gusts.<\/p>\n

That being the case, the Sir V.C. Bird International Airport will begin allowing landings and take-offs at 10:00 am today, October 3, 2023.<\/strong><\/p>

All Primary and Secondary Schools will be closed for today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, despite the lifting of the TSW.<\/p>

Except for Essential Workers, government employees are also not required to report to work today.<\/p>\n

Private sector operations are free to open for business, assuming there is no damage to the buildings in which their enterprises are housed.<\/p>

Reports are that flooding occurred in low-lying areas prone to such conditions. Every effort will be made to assist those whose homes have been inundated by the rainfall.<\/p>\n

It is also reported that a fire destroyed significant property at the Falmouth Harbour Marina, triggered by lightning strikes.<\/p>

The Parliamentary Representative is already seeking to hold talks with the owners.<\/p>
