NHC – Tropical Storm Philippe, as of 500 AM AST on Sunday, October 1, 2023, continues to move westward with no significant change in its strength.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Located at 16.4N 58.2W, approximately 210 miles east of Guadeloupe and 250 miles east-southeast of Barbuda, Philippe sustains maximum sustained winds of 50 mph.<\/p>\n

Its present movement is towards the west at 7 mph, but a west-northwest to northwestward motion is expected in the coming days, potentially impacting the northern Leeward Islands.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

While little change in strength is anticipated in the short term, some strengthening may occur as Philippe moves north of the Leeward Islands.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Tropical-storm-force winds extend up to 150 miles east of the center, and rainfall of 1 to 4 inches may lead to isolated flash flooding in the Leeward Islands.<\/p>\n

Philippe is likely to generate life-threatening surf and rip current conditions along the Atlantic coasts of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.<\/p>

Tropical Storm Rina Expected to Weaken Rapidly<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tropical Storm Rina, as of 500 AM AST on Sunday, October 1, 2023, is positioned at 24.3N 53.7W, about 735 miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Rina sustains maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving northwest at 14 mph, with a northward and then north-northeastward turn expected.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Rapid weakening is anticipated, with Rina likely becoming a remnant low later today or tonight and dissipating by early Tuesday.<\/p>\n

No coastal watches or warnings are currently in effect, and there are no significant hazards affecting land.<\/p>\n
