No upgrade to Tropical Cyclone Alert<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

The Met Office has decided not to upgrade the Tropical Cyclone Alert<\/a> issued earlier today to a Tropical Storm Watch<\/a> this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Monitoring will continue and the matter will be examined again closely early tomorrow, at which time, a watch may be required.<\/p>

The deferral of the watch is largely due to the further slowing of the forward speed of Tropical Storm Philippe.<\/p>

The Met Office reports that there continue to be higher than usual uncertainties with the forecast track and sustained winds of this system hence we need to stay on guard.<\/p>\n
