The Antigua and Barbuda Met Office has issued a Tropical Cyclone Alert for Antigua.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>

This means that a tropical cyclone is entering the monitored area and watches or warnings may be required in the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n

The Met Office reports that it is likely that a tropical storm watch will be issued later today as the office monitors the progress of Tropical Storm Phillipe (phil-leep).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

As such, the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is asking residents to ensure that their preparedness plans are in place. This includes having adequate canned and other non-perishable foods and water to last for at least three days, personal hygiene items, flashlight, batteries, adequate medication, important documents, first aid kit and infant supplies.<\/p>

If moving to a shelter, these items should be packed along with blanket and sheets or some other form of bedding.<\/p>\n

Residents should continue monitoring the local media for information on the latest on tropical storm Phillipe. A west to west-northwest track is expected over the next few days. The Met office reports that little change in strength is forecast for the next day or two with slow weakening forecast this weekend.<\/p>\n
