Hurricane Nigel, situated over the central subtropical Atlantic, is already under advisory.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, an Eastern Tropical Atlantic tropical wave, positioned southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands, is expected to merge with another disturbance to its west.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Favorable environmental conditions make gradual development likely, with a tropical depression possibly forming late this week or over the weekend.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The system is projected to move westward at 10 to 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.<\/p>\n

A non-tropical low pressure system is expected to form east of Florida, potentially developing subtropical characteristics by Friday.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This system will bring strong winds, heavy rain, and high surf to the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic United States during late this week and the weekend.<\/p>\n

While the formation chance within 48 hours is low (10 percent), it increases to a medium probability (40 percent) over the next seven days.<\/p>
