NHC – At 5:00 PM AST on September 19, 2023, the National Hurricane Center reported that Hurricane Nigel had strengthened, with its eye located at 31.8\u00b0N and 54.7\u00b0W, approximately 590 miles (955 km) east of Bermuda.<\/p>

Nigel is moving at 14 mph (22 km\/h) towards the north-northwest and is expected to turn north, followed by an acceleration to the northeast.<\/p>\n

Maximum sustained winds have reached 100 mph (155 km\/h), with the potential for further strengthening until early Wednesday.<\/p>

Weakening is anticipated on Thursday and Friday, with Nigel becoming a strong post-tropical cyclone by Friday.<\/p>
