REAL NEWS –\u00a0 Due to the constant destructive human activities taking place on the sister island, the sandbar in Barbuda is still struggling to repair itself, says Councilman John Mussington.<\/p>

The mangrove sustained a breach over six years ago from the devastating Hurricane Irma, and, reportedly, its condition is basically the same.<\/p>\n

Mussington says that under normal circumstances the sandbar would have healed itself; but due to the development in the area, healing is taking a much longer time to achieve.<\/p>

He says the nearby hotel development and several other projects have compromised the sand bar in terms of its ability to function in the way it should.<\/p>
