The Development Control Authority (DCA) has taken decisive action against the owners of the Carlisle Bay resort, issuing a ‘stop-work’ order that immediately halts excavation activities in the vicinity of their property.<\/p>

This resort had undertaken a substantial land-clearing project to expand its facilities, but it did so without adhering to the necessary regulatory protocols.<\/p>\n

Notably, they failed to notify the relevant authorities or submit an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), contravening the Land and Development Control Regulations. According to Lionel Hurst, Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office, the hotel aimed to construct villas on the cleared land.<\/p>
