Rotaract Club Launches \u201cSupplying Success\u201d Education Project<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

(St John\u2019s, Antigua) \u2026 On Friday, 25th August, the Rotaract Club of Antigua donated over 100 fully stocked back-to-school bags for primary school students across Antigua.<\/p>\n

The Rotaract Club of Antigua\u2019s Community Service Committee, led by Director Romancier Edwards, set in motion a robust program designed for the success of primary school students in Antigua.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

In recognition of Basic Education and Literacy Month, The Rotaract Club of Antigua carried out a three-phase project called \u201cSupplying Success\u201d in which primary school students across Antigua were equipped with school supplies and interactive reading opportunities.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The anticipated Community Service project has marked success by donating reading materials from local authors to one top Social Studies Common Entrance student, packing 100 backpacks to donate across school zones, and hosting an engaging reading comprehension session to mark World Literacy Day.<\/p>\n

Phase 2 of the Supplying Success initiative centred around the importance of owning the ultimate back-to-school backpack to start the school year.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

A fully packed backpack lies at the core of a child\u2019s opportunity to engage with the materials learned in the classroom and to apply what they learned outside the classroom.<\/p>\n

Distinctly, Rotaract Club\u2019s supply of 100 school bags to students across school zones ensures a greater impact on each child\u2019s motivation and confidence, which is beyond any price tag.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The bags consisted of exercise books, crayons, pens, pencils, rulers, binders, erasers, sharpeners, glues, and pencil cases, with bonus giveaways of lunch bags.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

For this to have been a success, the club partnered with the Ministry of Education and various schools who provided us with a list of students who were most vulnerable.<\/p>\n

The Distribution Day took place on the 25th of August and the 3rd of September, in which three central locations were chosen: namely the Rotary House, the JT Ambrose Primary School and the Greenbay Primary School.<\/p>\n

Club members met with students, guardians and parents who were a part of zones 1, 2 and 3 beaming with excitement and gratitude.<\/p>\n

The Club expresses a heartfelt thanks to all of its sponsors in this initiative.<\/p>\n

Remarkably, the impact of \u2018Supplying Success\u2019 has created a template for the future regarding literacy on the island of Antigua.<\/p>\n

The Club will continue to push for Basic Education and Literacy amongst the youth and looks forward to producing more innovative projects.<\/p>\n
