Hughes says the Government has already made the funds available,\u2028and they have been deposited into the account of the Antigua and\u2028Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC).<\/p>

The budgeted amount of $100,000 reportedly was handed over to\u2028the Commission sometime in early August, Hughes says.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Once the Writ of Elections has been issued, those funds will begin to\u2028be used for the purchase of necessities and for paying service\u2028providers, the Supervisor states.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hughes says the same team that oversaw St. Mary\u2019s\u2028South in the General Election on January 18 will be in place to\u2028conduct this poll \u2013\u2028although there could be some changes to staffing.<\/p>

He adds that the polling-day workers will still have to undergo a\u2028period of training and retooling for the pending by-election.<\/p>\n

The by-election was triggered by former MP Kelvin \u201cShugy\u201d Simon\u2019s\u2028resignation from the House of Representatives on June 7.<\/p>
