Redonda, a Caribbean island once resembling a barren moonscape, has been declared one of the largest protected areas in the Caribbean.<\/p>

The designation, known as the Redonda Ecosystem Reserve, covers approximately 30,000 hectares of land and sea, including the entire island, its surrounding seagrass meadows, and a 180 km2 coral reef.<\/p>\n

The island’s remarkable transformation from a lifeless landscape to a thriving haven of biodiversity began in 2016 when invasive species were removed.<\/p>
