School items donated included learning flash cards, paint, crayons, pencils, exercise books and\u00a0 school bags.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sandals Public Relations Manager Leon Norville said, \u201cthis year we opted to collaborate with\u00a0 Koren to further expand the reach of this initiative that is executed annually by our company. We\u00a0 do realize that sometimes to create substantial impact it is critical to build relationships with\u00a0 those who have direct access to our children in need. Koren runs an excellent programme and we\u00a0 were happy to support this very important cause.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Over 100 packages were created and distributed by Norton and team to students across the island\u00a0 with a focus on seven communities from Villa to Sea View Farm.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In September, the Sandals team will take to the island\u2019s beaches to execute an annual coastal\u00a0 clean-up as part of International Coastal Clean-up Day and in October; attention will be focused\u00a0 on Island Run Antigua.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, which aims to raise \u00a3100,000 boasts three distinct levels of participation invites\u00a0 persons to take part in \u2013 a 4-day Ultra Marathon 100KM Run; a 21Km Half Marathon Run or\u00a0 10Km walk on Saturday, October 14.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Proceeds from our upcoming Island Run Antigua will be used to purchase two much-needed\u00a0 identified medical equipment for the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre \u2013 a jaundice screening\u00a0 machine and a handheld blood analyzer that delivers lab-quality, diagnostic results in minutes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event has garnered international support and recognition as the first ever event of its kind to\u00a0 be hosted in the twin-island state and the region.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
