Gospel singer and radio announcer Deneese Wright is dead. Wright passed away in the University Hospital of the West Indies in St Andrew, on Thursday. She was 46.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cWe took her to the hospital on April 11, as she woke up the morning and was complaining of feeling dizzy. A week before, she was complaining of headaches,\u201d said close family friend, Meigon Anderson.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe died exactly a month to the day we took her in.\u201d<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Wright was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of malignant brain tumour known as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). She required surgery and a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. A gofundme account was set up to raise US$100,000. It raised US$1,034.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cHer brother in Canada, Vaughn Simpson, had set it up for her,\u201d Anderson said.<\/p>\n

Anderson said she met Wright 17 years prior and both were members of Fellowship Tabernacle\u2019s Praise and Worship team.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cShe had a beautiful voice and was totally sold out to God. She was bubbly, energetic, family-oriented and committed to ministering. God knows best,\u201d Anderson added.<\/p>\n

Wright\u2019s sister, Ann Simpson-Hall, said she remembers Wright as a dedicated individual.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cShe was called \u2018Den Den\u2019 and \u2018Jesus Girl\u2019. She was a personality girl\u2026 I don\u2019t know when they\u2019re gonna find anyone else like her. I remember on one occasion, she packed her suitcase and went to LOVE 101 FM and did three shifts straight,\u201d said Simpson-Hall.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Wright also ministered through song. Her songs include I Love You, I Belong To You <\/em>and No Condemnation.<\/em><\/p>\n

In 2008 she was a finalist in the Jamaica Cultural Development Commision\u2019s Gospel Song Competition.<\/p>\n

In addition to a brother and sister, Wright is survived by her father David.<\/p>\n
