Whether by human-controlled \u2018Animal Contests\u2019 or human-organized \u2018Beauty Pageants or Contests,\u2019 these events were not only known to have been filled with intrigues and confusion, but also equally as much, they have provoked disappointment, anger and invited the \u2018Wrath of Patrons. Spontaneous crowd reaction, has seen \u2018Judging Panels\u2019 and even Police taking inescapable evasive action from unseen oncoming missiles. With no radar and intercepted equipment, some un-intercepted missiles were known to have caused collateral damage and injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

PERSPECTIVE<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This commentary primarily looks at the recent behavior of the \u2018Panel of Judges.\u2019 Reflecting upon the early days of competitions, \u2018Pageantry Thievery\u2019 (coined), have prompted dissatisfaction in audiences. Though not necessarily with rampancy and frequency, the same continues to be obtained in many nations across the globe. In other activities, and particularly decisions given by; (a) \u2018Pageant Judges; (b) Ring and field-of-play referees and umpires,\u2019 hell often broke loose. Be they patrons, ardent fans and faithful followers, though not necessarily correct, invariably, they are incensed by that which had occurred.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

UNACCEPTABLY OUTRAGEOUS<\/span><\/p>\n

In the \u2018Jaycee\u2019s International (JCI)\u2019 (Antigua\/Barbuda Chapter) of the recently held \u2018Regional Queens Pageant,\u2019 a female media personality commenting on the event, could have been heard saying earnestly, truthfulness and all sincerity; \u2018I expect her to win the competition, but I did not expect her to win every Segment.\u2019 The understanding and\/or perceptions of commentators and patrons, have often sent clear messages to the decision-makers that some results and some decisions, were \u2018Unacceptably Outrageous.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

POLICE ESCORT<\/span><\/p>\n

Frequently, this was the point at which agitated and irate people had done the unthinkable. The \u2018Brutally Frank,\u2019 courageous, truthful and observant female commentator, may have been concerned with the quality of judging. She knew that the comment may have implications for their personal safety. Then chucklingly, she uttered; \u2018We might have to get the \u2018Police\u2019 to escort us out of here.\u2019 She may have been cognizance that her comment may have incensed some ardent followers, fans, well-wishers and patrons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

HUMAN CIVILIZATION<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Clearly, \u2018Human Civilization;\u2019 a good sense of reasoning and informed decisions, have constantly changed mindset and propensity. These, invariably, allow for contending ideas to be ventilated; for commonality of understanding; amicable resolutions; tolerance to be exercised and restraint to prevail. That was when specially and cordially invited delegates\u2019 from across the region may have gracefully accepted their invitations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GREAT EXPECTATIONS<\/span><\/p>\n

Undoubtedly, in the spirit of \u2018Congeniality; Competition; and Regionalism,\u2019 they have all participated in the prestigious \u2018JCI Beauty Pageant.\u2019 Each delegate would have enthusiastically entered with \u2018Great Expectations\u2019 of not just being placed in \u2018Runners-Up\u2019 positions, but also to be crowned \u2018Miss JCI Queen-2023\u2019 [Observer Media: July 31, 2023].\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PERSPECTIVE<\/span><\/p>\n

The commentary also looks at the apparent corrupt and debilitating \u2018Attitude of Insularity\u2019 by the selected \u2018Panel of Judges.\u2019 Most importantly, it seeks to unravel or discern rationalities for none of the \u20188-regionally-invited participants\u2019 failure in securing one of the \u20184-Judged Segments.\u2019 Here and now, it shall be made clear to those that had judged the recently-held \u2018JCI Regional Queens Pageant,\u2019 that have positioned the \u2018Panel of Judges; to be seen as \u2018Killers\u2019 of a \u2018Participatory Spirit,\u2019 and \u2018Destroyers\u2019 of \u2018hope, dreams and aspirations of the \u2018Visiting Delegates.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

REJECTED AND DEJECTED<\/span><\/p>\n

The commentary is \u2018Dedicated,\u2019 firstly to the \u20188-Rejected and Dejected\u2019 regional delegates; and secondly, to those with an appreciation for \u2018Fair Judging\u2019 in a competitive environment. Additionally, it is dedicated to the many followers, and-non-grumpy and fussy readers. These include a \u2018Retired Sister\/Midwife, and sister, \u2018Emily Ryan\u2019 [SVG]: Esteemed social media friends,\u2019 Audley Phillip; inclusive of the personally-known; \u2018Retired Justice Keith Thom; Practicing attorneys-at-law \u2018Charlesworth Tabor and Wendell Robinson-Glenroy Alexander.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

BUILDING CAPACITY- LITERACY<\/span><\/p>\n

My esteemed social media friend, \u2018Audley Phillip,\u2019 shall, at his own risk, post comments solely for the purposes of encouraging reading and \u2018Building Capacity Through Literacy.\u2019 As far as \u2018Freedom of Expression\u2019 and Deprivation of Liberty\u2019 are concerned, the attorneys shall help to keep the author out of jail. Even so, it shall be said that there has never been such harbored thought or desire to be institutionalized. Anything, but knowingly, recklessly, callously or maliciously writing something \u2018Libelous; slanderous; scandalous and\/or mischievous.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ADVERSARIAL JUDGING ENVIRONMENT<\/span><\/p>\n

In a \u2018Beauty Contest\u2019 in which \u2018Delegates\u2019 proudly showcase their endowed talent and performing to an audience, even when not so consumed, the \u2018Judged Segments\u2019 may have caused many to imagine that \u2018Butterflies were in the stomach.\u2019 Even so, that which has never brought solace to \u2018Delegates,\u2019 has often been \u2018an Adversarial Judging Environment and a Bias Panel of Judges.\u2019 Clearly, whether deservedly or undeservedly won, the \u2018JCI Sixtieth Anniversary\u2019 of the long-running \u2018Jaycee\u2019s Beauty Pageants,\u2019 appeared to have made the nationally-held \u2018Pageants\u2019 in the \u20188-participating territories\u2019 looked like \u2018School Pageants.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

JUDGES DECISIONS\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Though not necessarily intended, whether national or regional, \u2018Pageant Organizers\u2019 shall know that some \u2018Judges\u2019 Decisions\u2019 were not only seen to have the effect of killing the \u2018Spirit of Competition,\u2019 but also have implications for future regional participation. This is being looked at from the perspective whereby \u2018Judges,\u2019 more often than \u2018Pageant Organizers,\u2019 have caused participating contestants to be left despondent and distraught, thereby forcing participants and patrons to harbor feelings that the \u2018Weapon of Insularity\u2019 has been used discriminatingly against them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

CUNNING AND CONNIVING<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the years, some \u2018Judging Panels,\u2019 have often gave the uncanny and vexed impression that they have aught against \u2018Visiting Delegates.\u2019 When the Pageant was over, reasonable inferences may have been drawn that by \u2018Cunning or Conniving\u2019 design, on the \u2018Sixtieth (60) Anniversary of Pageantry,\u2019 there was no fitting delegate to be judged \u2018JCI Queen\u2019 than the home delegate. Such crowning and losing out on the \u20184-Judged Segments,\u2019 appeared to have stripped the \u2018Delegates\u2019 of their pride and dignity and wounded their femininity, intelligence and abilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

TREASONABLE ACT<\/span><\/p>\n

That which these delegates may not have known, was that they would have quicker seen a \u2018Spiked Heel\u2019 fell off a shoe sole, than the \u2018Judging Panel\u2019 according high-graded points for performances that may have wrested the coveted \u2018Crown\u2019 from the \u2018Kingdom of Antigua and Barbuda.\u2019 Moreover, as in real-life \u2018Kingdom Reign,\u2019 from time immemorial, it has been considered a \u2018Punishable Treasonable Act,\u2019 by subjects, even in \u2018Contests or Pageants,\u2019 to move against the \u2018Monarchy.\u2019 As in the case of British Queen Elizabeth II\u2019 [\u20262022], \u2018Long Live and Long Reign \u2018Her Majesty, Queen Ischikelle.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

DISSATISFIED DESPONDENT DELEGATES<\/span><\/p>\n

It shall be said that whatever may have been the reasoning for the expression or idiom \u2018Cockroach has no business competing with fowls,\u2019 fundamental to this commentary, is its use. It shall also be said that whoever may have coined the words for the idiom, \u2018Cockroach\u2019 has no business in \u2018Fowl House\u2019 (Coop),\u2019 by its usage and through this medium, the feelings of \u2018Dissatisfied and Despondent Delegates\u2019 and the deeply disturbed and displeased patrons to the recent \u2018Jaycee\u2019s International Regional Queens Pageant,\u2019 are conveyed [Antigua and Barbuda: July 31, 2023].<\/span><\/p>\n

DISREPUTABLE JUDGING PANEL<\/span><\/p>\n

Likened to those people, forced by necessity in fleeing war-torn and poverty-stricken countries in over-crowded and rickety vessels, they knew that the most dangerous place to be wedged, is between the \u2018Devil and the deep blue sea.\u2019 Yet, many had taken the conscious decision to flee their trouble countries. Looked at from the perspective of a \u2018Beauty Pageant,\u2019 only a \u2018Disreputable Judging Panel\u2019 can actually bring the \u2018Pageant Organizers\u2019 into disrepute. Lest anyone be so devious, or misguided in their thoughts, this commentary is not about who should, or should not have been crowned the local Chapter of the \u2018Miss Jaycee\u2019s International Queen.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

COCKROACH AND FOWL COOP<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0It is universally known that the most dangerous of places for any \u2018Cockroach,\u2019 is a \u2018Fowl Coop.\u2019 Seemingly, for the crawling\/flying feathered animals, though not concerned about stench, and not quite a meal, these winged-insects are readily beaked-up and gulped-down. As humans loathed their house-presence and obnoxious scent, the innocence of the \u2018Cockroach\u2019 has always placed it in positions to face the inevitable-Extermination. Thus, crawling out at the wrong time, and at the wrong place has often seen, that some residents have called \u2018Mahogany Bird,\u2019 being dropped with insecticidal spray of \u2018Bop and Det.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PAGEANT AND JUDGES<\/span><\/p>\n

Relate the \u2018Cockroach\u2019s Predicament\u2019 to \u2018Beauty Contests or Queen Pageants,\u2019 some contestants or participants really have no business competing in \u2018Pageants\u2019 where \u2018Judges\u2019 were minded to do the unthinkable. Contesting delegates only need to be graded with marginally low scores to be dropped out of winning contention. Though competition was usually fierce, the difficulties that may have been faced by \u2018Visiting Delegates,\u2019 were not necessarily posed by home competitors. To participants, foremost in the mind, may have been the exhibition of their best talent. Thus, with a keen desire to cap the coveted title, to leave nothing to crowd responses or empathy of \u2018Judging Panels.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

FIGMENT OF IMAGINATION<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 has prompted vivid reminder of the \u2018Animal Beauty Contest\u2019 [2000: Animal Beauty Contest: YouTube].\u00a0 Humorously expressed in song, \u2018Slinger Francisco, \u2018Mighty Sparrow,\u2019 it was worth referenced for the suggestive \u2018Moral,\u2019 where in human contests, there is the process of elimination. Likened to preliminaries in these contests,\u2019 the \u2018Animal Judges\u2019 reportedly disqualified several unmatched male contenders. While the \u2018Animal Beauty Contest\u2019 was a \u2018Figment of Sparrow\u2019s Imagination,\u2019 it was clear that some animals had to be eliminated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BEAUTY OF THE DONKEY<\/span><\/p>\n

The creativity and cleverness of the artist, suggested that the \u2018Animal Judges\u2019 had been transfixed on \u2018One Spot.\u2019 This was opposed to viewing the overall \u2018Beauty of the Donkey.\u2019 As far as physical attributes, none of the competing animals ever matched up to the \u2018Donkey\u2019 and favored by the \u2018Panel of Judges. Those reportedly lacked natural physical attributes were said to have been greatly angered. Those so lacking, included the \u2018Lion of the Jungle\u2019 and the grudging, despising tree-climbing and swinging, \u2018Monkey.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

MIMICKING THE ANIMALS<\/span><\/p>\n

Though exist in the same \u2018Animal Kingdom,\u2019 among that which humans have over the animals, have been; (i) \u2018Endowment of Reason and Conscience: (ii) The gift of speech; and (ii) A \u2018Spirit of Discernment.\u2019 Left to the human imagination, it may not necessarily have been its beauty. The lyrical contents suggested that it was \u2018Donkey\u2019s Anatomy.\u2019 At the end of the \u2018Animal Contest,\u2019 the only animals that may not have been confused, were the \u2018Judges.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

KING OF THE BEAST<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u2018Animal Judging Panel\u2019 appeared to have been so enthused, that they reportedly awarded the three coveted positions; \u2018\u2026First: \u2026Second; and \u2026Third,\u2019 vied for in that which was conceptualized and dubbed by the \u2018Mighty Sparrow\u2019 as the \u2018Animal Beauty Contest.\u2019 Consequently, they have crowned it; \u2018King of the Beast.\u2019 In many respects, humans have often \u2018Mimicked the Animals.\u2019 In the recent \u2018Jaycee\u2019s International (JCI) Regional Queen\u2019s Contest,\u2019 local delegate \u2018Ischikelle Corbin,\u2019 has bettered the \u2018Donkey\u2019s\u2019 achievements\u2019 by \u2018Five.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

JCI: QUEEN ISCHIKELLE<\/span><\/p>\n

In the contest, that which appeared to have captured the attention of the of the \u2018Judging Panel\u2019 was the endowed attributes of the \u2018Donkey.\u2019 In the \u2018JCI Pageant, that which inferentially wooed the \u2018Judging Panel,\u2019 have been the \u2018Segments\u2019 capped by \u2018Crowned Queen, Ischikelle Corbin\u2019 It would be wrong to speculate on that which may have captured the attention in the \u2018JCI Pageant\u2019 in which the home-based delegate capped the \u20184-Judged Segments and \u2018Queen of the Pageant.\u2019 Therefore, in the \u20189-delegate \u2018JCI\u2019 Pageant,\u2019 the home-based contestant has bettered the achievements of the \u2018Donkey.\u2019 [July 31, 2023].<\/span><\/p>\n

PARTICIPATORY CRASH<\/span><\/p>\n

It shall not be seen that in the event-planed \u2018Summer Festival,\u2019 including; (i) \u2018JCI Regional Queen Show: and (ii) The non-invitational shows,\u2019 that seemed destined down a slippery slope for a \u2018Participatory Crash.\u2019 Should the \u2018Carnival Development Committee (CDC)\u2019 make a \u2018Disclaimer\u2019 that the recent \u2018Jaycee\u2019s International (JCI) Pageant,\u2019 was not among its planned \u2018Events of Activities,\u2019 then it shall divorce itself from the \u2018JCI\u2019s Pageants and Organizing Committee.\u2019 Such course of action may be in the overall interest of the nation\u2019s premier \u2018Summer Festival-Carnival.\u2019 It behooves the \u2018CDC\u2019 to protect the; (a) \u2018Name and reputation; (b) Ensure achievement of its Cultural aims; and (c) Participatory objectives.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

PAGES OF HISTORY<\/span><\/p>\n

These are among other ways in advancing with its \u2018Developmental Plans\u2019 for \u2018Carnival.\u2019 In the recently held \u2018Beauty Pageant,\u2019 the \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 then identified by \u2018State Media\u2019 includes: (i) \u2018Antigua and Barbuda: (ii) Commonwealth of Dominica; (iii) Emerald Isle Montserrat; and (iv) Federation members, St. Kitts and Nevis\u2019 [ABS TV? Radio: July 31, 2023]. These appeared to have represented the \u2018Perfect Team\u2019 of \u2018Mystery Judging,\u2019 thereby, blemishing the \u2018Pages of History,\u2019 when none of the \u20188-Invited Participants,\u2019 was not accorded worthwhile consideration to be awarded one of the 4-Judged Segments.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

SUPPORTIVE PARTICIPANTS<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the years, those that were often seen as \u2018Supportive Participants,\u2019 have been persons from whichever islands were departmentally-regularized by \u2018Immigration\u2019 authorities and resident right here on \u2018Antigua and Barbuda.\u2019 Instructively, \u2018Pageant Hosts and Hostesses\u2019 often gave the impression that the \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 had been; \u2018Carefully selected from across the region by \u2018Pageant Organizing Committees.\u2019 Frequently, those so selected have often been seen as \u2018Slaves\u2019 to environmental and non-governmental organizations. Thus, the \u2018Selectees\u2019 were often placed to unscrupulously act against competitors not of their ilk and origin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

UNSUSPECTING DECEPTION<\/span><\/p>\n

Then to all intents and purposes, on the night of the \u2018Beauty Pageants,\u2019 hosts and hostesses, rife, yet \u2018Unsuspecting of Deception,\u2019 those so selected as \u2018Pageant Judges\u2019 have been described by nationality. That the overwhelming majority of patrons and \u2018ALL\u2019 visiting Delegates never knew was that they had \u2018Currency of Residency,\u2019 with allegiance to identifiable political organizations. There was no better person to make his observations and displeasure publicly known, than \u2018Prime Minister Gaston Browne\u2019 [Pointe FM 99: August 10, 2023]. Though the \u2018Prime Minister\u2019 did not describe the \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 as \u2018Riff-Raff,\u2019 there are few Delegates, patrons and calypsonians,\u2019 who may not have the fortitude to so describe the \u2018Panel of Judges.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

GUIDED BY INSULARITY<\/span><\/p>\n

Culturally, narrowed down to \u2018Social Commentaries\u2019 and \u2018Beauty Pageants,\u2019 those participating had invariably embraced the concept of a \u2018Competitive Spirit.\u2019 None shall believe that have entered only for the fun. Contests and competitions are never for fun. Each competitor, contestant or participant, does so with one objective. While the \u2018Decisions\u2019 of \u2018Judging Panels,\u2019 shall be accepted as \u2018Final,\u2019 some \u2018Pageant Judges,\u2019 seemingly \u2018Guided by Insularity,\u2019 have not only; (a) \u2018Shattered delegates confidence and patron\u2019s expectations; (b) Killed the \u2018Spirit of Competitiveness; but have also; (c) Affected future pageant\u2019s participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

4-JUDGED SEGMENTS<\/span><\/p>\n

Consequently, home-based competitors, appear always to have been well-positioned to have the \u2018Winning Edge.\u2019 In fact, in the recently hosted \u2018JCI Pageant, the \u2018Judges Score Sheets\u2019 may show that except for \u2018home-based \u2018Delegate Ischikelle Corbin,\u2019 none of the \u20188-visiting Delegates\u2019 performed well enough, or had scored highly in any of the \u20184-Judged Segments\u2019 to have capped the \u2018Coveted \u2018JCI\u2019 Crown\u2019 [July 31, 2023]. The segments awarded to the home-based Delegate included: (i) \u2018Best interview; (ii) Best performing talent; (iii) Best Swim wear; (iv) Best modelling skills; and (v) JCI Queen-2023.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NUMERICAL VALUE<\/span><\/p>\n

There may have been no contest without regional participation. If there was such a contest, the depraved localized \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 may have no difficulty awarding the lone local delegate; (i) \u2018Queen; ii) First Runner-up; and (iii) Second Runner-up, as well as the \u20184-Judged Segments.\u2019 The \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 appeared to have made the \u2018Regional \u2018JCI\u2019 Queen Show\u2019 [Antigua and Barbuda: July 31, 2023], less than appealing and inviting. The \u2018Judging Panel\u2019 appeared to have seen the invited participants only for their numbers. Thus, the participants may have been given reasons to believe that their participation, was merely for the \u2018Numerical Value.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOOL PAGEANTS<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 appeared to have done more harm to future Pageants participation, than the achievements of the home-delegate. The apparent hand-picked \u2018Panel of Judges\u2019 had caused a \u2018Wave of Dissenting Voices\u2019 to have been heard more than any other time in the \u2018Pageant\u2019s history between \u2018One and Sixty Years\u2019 hosting the localized Pageant [1960 – 2023]. Whether deservedly or undeservedly won the \u2018Sixtieth (60) Anniversary\u2019 of the long-running \u2018Jaycee\u2019s Beauty Pageant,\u2019 the \u2018Judges\u2019 appeared to have made nationally-held pageants in the \u20188 participating territories\u2019 looked like \u2018School Pageants.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

BIAS AND INSULARITY<\/span><\/p>\n

Many have frowned over \u2018Judges Decisions\u2019 that have been continuously begging not to be described as pregnant with \u2018Bias and Insularity.\u2019 These may now necessitate policy-makers to take a close and serious look at the existed \u2018Judging Malady,\u2019 that continues to afflict the \u2018Invited Delegates,\u2019 should the \u2018Carnival Development Committee (CDC) wishes to encourage future participation and at the same time, help to build regionalism than cultivating a mind-set in \u2018Pageant Judges,\u2019 as to be seen as hell-bent in ensuring that the \u2018JCI Crown\u2019 was retained in the host nation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

MINORITY OF MISFITS<\/span><\/p>\n

Likened to the home-based delegate, \u2018Ischikelle Corbin,\u2019 the delegates have all showcased their; (a) \u2018Beauty; (b) Intelligence; (c) Special talents; and (d) Modelling skills\u2019 commendably and exceedingly well. There appeared to have been great camaraderie between herself and the specially invited, yet humiliated and frustrated participants. Competitively, it was often a very small \u2018Minority of Misfits\u2019 and narrow-minded people being placed on \u2018Judging Panels,\u2019 that have caused competitors horrors. These \u2018Misfits,\u2019 and not necessarily the organizers, have given \u2018Invited Delegates\u2019 reasons to harbor beliefs that some segments of the \u2018Pageant\u2019 have been \u2018pre-judged,\u2019 and that some results have been \u2018pre-determined.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

QUALITY OF JUDGING\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nationally, in recent years, the \u2018Quality of Judging\u2019 was said to have offended regional participation. 8-INVITED DELEGATES<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u20188-<\/span> Invited Nations\u2019 then represented included; (i) \u2018The British Virgin Islands: (ii) Commonwealth of Dominica: (iii) Montserrat; (iv) The impoverished, Gang-ruled Haiti; (v) St. Kitts and Nevis; (vi) St. Lucia; (vii) The United States Virgin Islands: and (viii) St. Vincent and the Grenadines.\u2019 Early hosting of the \u2018Pageant\u2019 saw the larger \u2018CARICOM\u2019 nations of; (i) \u2018Barbados; (ii) Guyana; (iii) Jamaica; and (iv) Trinidad and Tobago; and (v) French and Dutch Overseas Territories\u2019 fully participated.\u2019 For whatever reason\/s, by their non-participation, \u2018OECS Grenada,\u2019 appeared to have forego the possible seasonally-dispatched invitations.<\/span><\/p>\n

LIABILITIES OR ASSETS<\/span><\/p>\n

In later years, these nations appeared to have concentrated resources on the more costly, but prestigious \u2018Miss Universe Pageant.\u2019 Though no reasons were disclosed, none may deny the perceived existence of \u2018Judging Malady\u2019 among participating nations. Expectedly, in most competitive contests, the home-based competitors were often better positioned to have advantages over visiting delegates. Such advantages are manifold. There is: (a) \u2018Home-based fan support; and (b) Support of the selected non-open-minded \u2018Panel of Judges.\u2019 Most appeared to have been selected, not because of judging experiences, but for their past participation. Such persons more than ever, shall now be seen as \u2018Liabilities\u2019 than \u2018Assets\u2019 to the \u2018Jaycee\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n

CONCLUSION<\/span><\/p>\n

There are three primary elements to \u2018Beauty Pageants.\u2019 These are; (i) \u2018Contestants: (ii) Criteria; and (iii) A panel of Judges.\u2019 The contestants shall not only perform to the best of their ability, but most importantly, to the \u2018Pageants Criteria.\u2019 Those that shall be keenly observant are the \u2018Panel of Judges.\u2019 They shall be satisfied on the basis of merit, that \u2018Delegates\u2019 have performed to the \u2018Set Criteria,\u2019 and to the individual and collective satisfaction of the Panel. Even with \u2018Crashed Training Courses,\u2019 those not so measured up to qualified standards of judging; (i) \u2018Beauty: (ii) Intelligence: (iii) Talent; and (iv) Modeling skill,\u2019 and are colorized and organizationally-affiliated, shall not be so engaged to judge the \u2018Jaycee\u2019s International Regional Queens Pageants.\u2019 Guided by the \u2018Moral\u2019 in the creative thinking of the \u2018Mighty Sparrow,\u2019 likened to the danger faced by the \u2018Cockroach,\u2019 Pageant organizers shall know that \u2018Crashed-Trained Judges\u2019 could make \u2018Visiting Delegates\u2019 feel they have entered the \u2018Wrong Pageants.\u2019 This said, it shall be borne in the mind of \u2018Pageant Judges,\u2019 that in all \u2018Competitive Pageants,\u2019 such as that of the \u2018JCI,\u2019 and at all material times, \u2018Credit shall be given to whom it is due.\u2019 Keep hope alive; Keep the \u2018Pageants\u2019 seasonally running. Long Live \u2018JCI\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
