Three artists received cash prizes for their winning paintings in the Halo Foundation\u2019s Royal Drawing School Art Competition. The prizes were presented recently at Government House by Their Excellencies Sir Rodney and Lady Williams, on behalf of the Halo Foundation.<\/p>

The recipient of the first\u00a0prize was Shelleysha Morgan, a teacher at the Villa Primary School \u00a0for her spectacular piece entitled\u00a0\u201cFluidity”. \u00a0<\/strong><\/i><\/p>\n

The second prize was presented to Kelly Hull, an independent artist , for the painting “Mango Season<\/em><\/b>\u201d<\/em><\/b>.<\/em><\/b><\/p>

\u00a0<\/em><\/b>Bernard Richardson, a teacher at the Antigua Grammar School, was awarded third prize for his work\u00a0\u201c<\/em><\/b>Beginning<\/em><\/b>\u201d<\/em><\/b>.\u00a0<\/em><\/b><\/p>

The artists were given cheques for $5000, $3000 and $1000 respectively.<\/p>\n

The paintings were exhibited at the annual\u00a0\u201cWings of Charity\u201d Fundraiser, held this year at the Dorchester Hotel in London.<\/p>

The Halo Foundation had spearheaded a 6-week teacher\u2019s training programme earlier this year, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and in partnership with the Jumby Bay Fund.<\/p>\n

The classes were held at The Workshop Studio Art Gallery in English Harbour, owned by renowned artist Dina de Brozzi Goodenough.<\/p>

Two tutors from the Royal Drawing School in London conducted the workshop.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

This is the second such training session held in\u00a0Antigua and\u00a0Barbuda.<\/p>\n

Information on the 2024 classes will soon be made available to the public.<\/p>\n
