Two Hispanic women and another identified as Jamaican are facing charges of assault, battery and disorderly conduct after a brawl in St. John’s this afternoon.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The confrontation occurred on Lower Redcliffe Street when the two Hispanic women were attempting to cross the street.<\/p>\n

The driver did not yield and according to an eyewitness, the Spanish speakers uttered some words in their native tongue accompanied by hand gestures.<\/p>

Offended by their action, a Jamaican speaking her native patois existed her vehicle and an argument ensued.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It resulted in the Jamaican slapping one of the Hispanic women across the face and the victim retaliating by sending a glass bottle in the direction of the woman.<\/p>\n

Police officers who were nearby intervened and according to a source familiar with legal proceedings, those involved could face charges.<\/p>
