The UK government has issued an ominous warning that it will impose visa requirements on passport holders from St Lucia, Grenada, Antigua and Barbuda and St Kitts and Nevis, if those countries do not abandon their controversial Citizenship by Investment or CBI programmes.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The European Commission says it will follow suit by removing those countries from the Schengen Visa waiver programme.<\/p>\n

Under the CBI, persons can obtain citizenship and a passport from a second country by investing in the economy of that country.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The UK announced last week that all holders of a Dominican passport would no longer be granted visa free access to the United Kingdom, effective in August.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The UK government says it made the decision because persons with criminal antecedents had bought Dominican citizenship, thus allowing them to travel freely to and from Britain.<\/p>\n
