Over the last few months, there have been cases where workers have been seriously injured or killed on the job.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The government recently decriminalised use of marijuana. <\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

However, it has been documented that use of cannabis impairs judgement.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the United States, there has been documented evidence of workplace accidents due to use of cannabis among workers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I have attached articles below.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I know it would be an uphill battle to try to changes the laws.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, I think it is prudent (and potentially lifesaving) for workplaces to impose drug tests, especially for jobs where slight impairments in judgement can carry severe consequences.<\/span><\/p>

Also, we’re seeing the deleterious effects marijuana is having on our youth.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How can we curb this?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If youth know that cannabis use will reduce their chances of getting a job, that may be the only was to curb their use of it.<\/span><\/p>\n
