\nspite of the House Speaker\u2019s refusal to accept the resignation of
\nformer MP Kelvin \u201cShugy\u201d Simon \u2013 says a confident Leon Chaku
\nSymister, the United Progressive Party\u2019s spokesperson on legal

It is now just over two weeks since Simon resigned from the House,
\nand Symister says the clock is ticking and the Party is counting down
\nthe days.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Gaston Browne and his Cabinet have pointed out
\nthat the case to determine Simon\u2019s eligibility to run in the January
\n18 polls is still pending. In spite of Simon\u2019s resignation, the claimant
\nhas not dropped the case, they note.<\/p>

To some persons, this suggests that no date for a by-election can be
\nset before the court matter \u2013 due to be heard in July \u2013 is concluded.<\/p>

\nearly October, if not before, since Wednesday, June 21, marked 15
\ndays since the Speaker received Simon\u2019s resignation letter.<\/p>\n

\ngames. But he says the most critical part of the electoral process is
