Christal Clashing, the adventurer and PhD candidate; Kevinia Francis, the personal trainer; and Samara Emmanuel, the groundbreaking sailor, make up Team Antigua Island Girls\u2014the history-making rowing team.<\/p>

The team represented Antigua and Barbuda in the 2018 Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.<\/p>\n

When they arrived home on Monday, January 28, 2019, after 47 days, they rowed into the history books, becoming, not just the first all-woman team from the Caribbean to compete in the TWAC, but also the first all-black team to row across any ocean.<\/p>

Now they have just embarked on a new challenge the PACIFIC ROW.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Organized by Atlantic Campaigns, the same team behind the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, the inaugural Pacific Challenge will have up to 20 teams.<\/p>\n

The crews will traverse the waters of the Pacific, the world\u2019s deepest ocean.<\/p>

Teams begin in the historic harbor of Monterey and end in Hanalei Bay on Kauai, Hawaii.<\/p>\n

First vessel launches today, at 07:00 PDT (local California time), 10:00 EST.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The boats will leave at 3 minute intervals. We\u2019re sixth, departing at 07:15 PDT (10:15 am in Antigua and Barbuda).<\/div>\n
