The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Women’s Selection Panel has announced the preliminary squad for the upcoming training camp ahead of the six-match series against Ireland Women.<\/p>

The camp will take place at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia from June 14 to 21.<\/p>\n

The focus will be on training, fitness, and strategic preparations for the three-match CG United One Day International (ODI) Series, which will be held from June 26 to July 1.<\/p>

The preliminary squad consists of a blend of experienced players and promising young talents. Notable additions include Cherry-Ann Fraser, who returns after missing the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup due to injury, and Qiana Joseph, a left-handed all-rounder who showcased her skills in recent tournaments.<\/p>

Additionally, several West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 players have been included in the squad, emphasizing CWI’s commitment to nurturing young talent and expanding the Women’s talent pool.<\/p>\n

Ann Browne-John, CWI’s Lead Selector for Women’s cricket, expressed the significance of the series against Ireland in terms of building points for qualification to the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.<\/p>

She also highlighted the opportunity to provide exposure to younger players. The squad selection reflects a balance between youth and experience as CWI aims to shape the future West Indies team.<\/p>\n

The official West Indies Women’s squad for the CG United ODI Series will be announced by the Women’s Selection Panel, with the T20I squad to follow.<\/p>
