Prime Minister Gaston Browne is urging residents not to take comfort in the fact that Tropical Storm Beryl is weakening.<\/p>

\u201cWe still have to remain vigilant and at the same time not to become complacent because these storms are unpredictable,\u201d the prime minister told listeners to his radio station.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw what happened in the case of Tropical Storm Erica in Dominica and even hurricane Maria,\u201d the prime minister recalled.<\/p>

Beryl is moving west-northwestward at 20 mph (31km\/h) and maximum sustained winds are near 45mph or 75km\/h with higher gusts. On the forecast track, the center of Beryl will move over or near to Dominica this evening into tonight. Beryl is likely to weaken to a trough of low pressure after moving across the Lesser Antilles.<\/p>\n

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Dominica.<\/p>

\u201cI am asking all our citizens and residents to remain vigilante. I am hoping though that we get some much-needed rain from this tropical storm and that it would not do any damage within the region,\u201d Browne said.<\/p>\n

The Antigua & Barbuda leader says he\u2019s keeping neighboring island in his prayers.<\/p>
