Current head coach Mikele Leigertwood<\/strong>, who represented Antigua and Barbuda 11 times during his career, does not have a massive choice of players when it comes to selecting his matchday squads due to the country’s small population. However, five Antiguan internationals currently ply their trade for English teams, and all five would be worthy of pulling on the famous yellow and black shirts of the Benna Boys<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Luther James-Wildin<\/h2>\n

Luther James-Wildin<\/strong> was born in Leicester, England, but his ancestry allows him to play for Antigua and Barbuda. The talented right-back has made two appearances for the national team, although many believe he should have more caps to his name. James-Wildin has played for Stevenage<\/strong> since 2018, turning out for the team 175 times. He was part of the Stevenage squad that was favourite for promotion from League Two with the best Vegas betting sites<\/a>, and James-Wildin was instrumental in Stevenage achieving that goal this season.<\/p>

James-Wildin is only 25, so he has time to make more appearances for the Benna Boys.<\/p>

Myles Weston<\/h2>\n

Myles Weston<\/strong> is now 35 years old and nearing the end of his footballing career, but what an incredible career it has been. Born in Lewisham, England, Weston qualifies to play for Antigua and Barbuda through his family heritage; he has played for his country 14 times, scoring nine goals.<\/p>\n

Weston is vastly experienced and has racked up more than 620 league and cup games for eight teams between 2006 and now. He plays as a winger or a striker. Weston is remembered fondly by Brentford<\/strong> supporters after making 129 appearances for the London-based club. He is currently playing for Dagenham & Redbridge<\/strong> of the National League, where he has scored eight goals in 126 games.<\/p>

Mahlon Romeo<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mahlon Romeo<\/strong> is a vastly experienced defender who was on the Arsenal<\/strong> books as a youngster. It did not work out for him with the “Gunners,” and Romeo moved to Gillingham<\/strong> in 2012. After making only one first-team appearance, Romeo transferred to Millwall<\/strong> in 2015, where he became a fan favourite thanks to his tough tacking; Romeo played 221 games for “The Lions.”<\/p>\n

Romeo spent a season on loan to Portsmouth before signing a three-year deal with Cardiff City<\/strong> in June 2022. He has played for the men’s national team 14 times, but he is widely expected to earn many more caps.<\/p>

You may not know, but Romeo is the son of the music producer and frontman of the R&B group Soul II Soul<\/strong>, Jazzie B<\/strong>!<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Nick Townsend<\/h2>\n

Goalkeeper Nick Townsend<\/strong> made his international debut in June 2022 as Antigua and Barbuda beat Barbados 1-0. Townsend has since played six times for his country and looks set to make the number one shirt his own.<\/p>\n

Townsend started his professional career with Birmingham City<\/strong> in 2013 but found his playing time limited. He went out on loan to Oxford City<\/strong> and Lincoln City<\/strong> before briefly playing for Barnsley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Townsend moved to Newport County<\/strong> of League Two in 2018 and has since pulled on his gloved 110 times for “The Exiles.”<\/p>\n

Josh Parker<\/h2>\n

Josh Parker<\/strong> has represented the Benna Boys 36 times, including being team captain on occasion, and scored five goals in his country’s colours. The now 32-year-old started his career with Queens Park Rangers<\/strong> in 2009 but spent the early part of his career as a substitute. Indeed, between 2009 and early 2013, Parker played only 47 games and failed to score a single goal.<\/p>\n

Parker moved to Slovenia and then Serbia, where he found his scoring boots, firing in 18 goals in 54 games. His time at the world-famous club Red Star Belgrade<\/strong> stood him in good stead for the rest of his career.<\/p>\n

Spells at Gillingham, Charlton Athletic<\/strong>, Wycombe Wanderers<\/strong>, and Burton Albion<\/strong> followed before Parker ended up at Oxford City in September 2022.<\/p>\n
