During Nurses Week 2023, Soria Dupie-Winston, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Nurses Association, emphasized the need for greater investment in nurses.<\/p>

Speaking on the Observer AM show, she linked this year\u2019s theme to the importance of providing incentives to retain nurses.<\/p>\n

She suggested rent-to-own land as a possible incentive that would allow nurses to use their land as collateral for a mortgage to get a house and remain in the country.<\/p>

Dupie-Winston also discussed ongoing negotiations with the government regarding working conditions.<\/p>

The week of activities included a church service, a Zoom webinar on mental health and strategies for learning and investing in the future, and a luncheon celebrating nurses and retired nurses.<\/p>\n

The week concluded with a boat cruise titled \u2018Dinner and Dance Under the Stars\u2019, which was open to the public and sold tickets through executive members of the association.<\/p>
