Lamar Richardson, the son of Antiguan parents, has been nominated for a Tony Award\u00ae as a Co-Producer of the new Broadway musical, NEW YORK, NEW YORK. In his recent message to the News Room, Lamar expressed his excitement and shared his hopes to bring recognition to the island.<\/p>

Lamar’s entire family is from Antigua, with his mother, Yvette Richardson (maiden name Francis), hailing from John Hughes and his father, Victor Richardson, Sr., from Gray’s Farm. His maternal grandmother, Petrinella Francis (maiden name Anthony), is from Urlings. His maternal grandfather Wycliffe Francis is from John Hughes.<\/p>\n

Lamar is also one of the youngest Black producers to be recognized, in addition to being the son of immigrant parents.<\/p>

The Broadway musical, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, is set in 1946 during the city’s rebuilding phase after the war. It features a diverse group of artists who have big dreams but must navigate the challenges of the city to succeed.<\/p>

With an eclectic mix of new songs and classic big band hits, including the famous “New York, New York” and “The World Goes Round,” this dazzling new musical promises to be the talk of the town.<\/p>\n
