\u00a0St. John\u2019s, Antigua\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026.<\/strong> The Cultural Unit within the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries is pleased to advise the general public that we will conduct a series of Junior Calypso and Junior Party Monarch Workshops.<\/p>\n

These Workshops are extended to youths between the ages of 5 to 19 years with a desire to gain a more profound knowledge of the art form.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The workshop will commence Saturday, 6th May 2023, at the Villa Primary School from 9 am to 12:00 noon.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Participants will be separated into two groups of 5 \u2013 12 years and 13 \u2013 19 years and will cover Song Writing, Stage Performance and Vocal Training.<\/p>\n

The sessions will be facilitated by some of Antigua\u2019s iconic Arrangers, Calypsonians and Soca artists and promise to be a monumental step in molding our young aspiring artists.<\/p>

Mr Khan Cordice, the Director of the Cultural Unit, stated, \u201cThese workshops are specifically geared towards developing our young Calypsonians and Soca artists, which will provide continuity within the art form.<\/p>\n

This gives me a good feeling as we work towards ensuring that calypso and soca maintain their rightful place during the annual festival\u201d.<\/p>

To register, interested persons must bring their completed registration forms to the Villa Primary School on the day of the workshop.<\/p>

Forms can be collected from the Culture on Lower Nevis Street, Festivals office on Redcliffe Street or Creative Industries office on Old Parham Road.
