Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph has announced that almost a dozen medical professionals will be sourced from Cuba to augment the workforce at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.<\/p>

In an interview with Observer AM, Joseph revealed that discussions are ongoing with the Cuban government to provide additional doctors and nurses to address the healthcare services’ disruptions that occurred earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The Health Minister has requested six more doctors and five more nurses with expertise in specialized areas.<\/p>

The negotiations aim to address issues such as better working conditions, overtime pay, and the lack of essential equipment that led to the cancellation of several surgeries.<\/p>

The next round of negotiations is scheduled for Tuesday.<\/p>
