Eric Braeden, who has played Victor Newman on the CBS soap opera \u201cThe Young and the Restless\u201d for more than 40 years, announced Friday he is being treated for cancer.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m a little under the weather, but not really much. I work out, but reduced, in a reduced way,\u201d Braeden, 82, revealed in a\u00a013-minute Facebook video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Braeden said a urologist discovered some \u201chigh-grade\u201d cancerous cells while examining his bladder. He shared that he had been suffering prostate issues while recuperating from knee surgery.<\/p>

The Emmy-winning performer \u2014 who also appeared in \u201cTitanic,\u201d as John Jacob Astor IV, and the 2018 heist thriller\u00a0\u201cDen of Thieves\u201d<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 said he has been able to continue acting on \u201cY&R\u201d while undergoing six weeks of immunotherapy treatments.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m happy to be able to go to work,\u201d he confessed. \u201cThat, I enjoy. It distracts me. I love acting. I love knowing that I entertain people.\u201d<\/p>\n
