Antigua Agronomics, a locally registered company whose principals are based in<\/p>

the United Kingdom, has received its certificate from the Medicinal Cannabis<\/p>\n

Authority, to operate in the medicinal cannabis sphere that is now being developed<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

here in Antigua and Barbuda.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chief Executive Officer Ashley King, said the license grants his company the right<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

to cultivate cannabis, and extract the oil from the plant for medicinal use, both<\/p>\n

locally and for export.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cWe are aiming to become a global supplier in the medicinal cannabis market. We<\/p>\n

are happy to have received our certificate, and we wish to thank everyone here who<\/p>\n

helped us along the way,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

King said both he and his team have been traveling to and from the country over<\/p>\n

the past several years, and there are plans to assist the country beyond the areas of<\/p>\n

medicinal cannabis.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be constantly contributing towards improving the country\u2019s agricultural<\/p>\n

sector, we plan to train young farmers in the aquaponics sector, as well as offer<\/p>\n

assistance in the area of health,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The company will also be providing employment opportunities to at least a dozen<\/p>\n

people when it begins operations here over the next several months, according to<\/p>\n

King.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Another director, Richard O\u2019Brien, described the operation simply as, \u2018from seeds<\/p>\n

to finished products\u2019 such as oils, that will help in the care of cancer patients and<\/p>\n

others with pain management issues.<\/p>\n

Antigua-born Dwight Ateba Henry who is originally from Bolans, but who now<\/p>\n
