DCA calls for Five Islands property owner to come in and remedy breaches of the law or risk demolition of his building<\/h1>\n

A Cooks New Extension resident risks his property being demolished by the Development Control Authority (DCA) if he fails to abide by regulations.<\/p>

Reportedly, he is in breach of the Physical Planning Act<\/em>\u00a0and is being warned to take steps to remedy the offense.<\/p>\n

The DCA says it has scheduled demolition of the property for Monday,\u00a0April 3, in accordance with Section 34(8) (c) of the law, which states that the Authority \u201cmay require a person who has been served an Enforcement Notice to take several steps to remedy the breach which led to the aforementioned, including demolition or removal of a building in whole or in part.\u201d<\/p>

Town and Country Planner Fredrick Southwell says he is seeking the cooperation of the person who is responsible for the property, located at block number #54-1489A, parcel number #1181, registration section Five Islands.<\/p>

The man\u00a0is asked to immediately contact the Authority, or its satellite location at the Ministry of Housing, Lands and Urban Renewal on Friars Hill Road, in order to reach an amicable solution on the issue.<\/p>\n

According to the DCA, \u201cFailure to comply with previous written correspondences will result in demolition where the property owner must pay the costs associated with the removal of the structure.\u201d<\/p>
