A 79-year-old Spanish national died on Saturday during a zip lining trip at Antigua Rainforest with his girlfriend.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

David Sanderson and his partner, Jean Gillot, arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on the Celebrity Silhouette that morning.<\/p>\n

As part of their island tour, the couple visited the popular attraction in Fig Tree Drive and decided to spend time zip lining above the rainforest canopy.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/div>\n

Their planned day of fun and sightseeing took a terrible turn, however, when Sanderson collapsed and became unresponsive.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

CPR was performed on the elderly man while Emergency Medical Services was summoned.<\/p>\n

According to reports, efforts to resuscitate Sanderson en route to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC) were unsuccessful.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He is believed to have died before arriving at the hospital, sometime around 11:25am.<\/p>\n

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Sanderson had a history of hypertension and had a pacemaker implanted in his chest.<\/p>

After pronouncing Sanderson dead, a doctor at SLBMC ordered his body removed to a funeral home pending an autopsy. (POINTE XPRESS)<\/p>
