Residents of Antigua and Barbuda are headed to the polls today to elect a new government.<\/p>

There are 53 candidates in the election race competing for 17 seats in the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) currently holds 15 seats while the United Progressive Party (UPP) and Barbuda People\u2019s Movement (BPM) hold the remaining seats.<\/p>

ABEC PRO Elisa Graham reports that 60,916 people are registered to vote in the general election.<\/p>\n

In 2018, according to caribbeanelections.com<\/a>, just 51,258 persons were registered to vote.<\/p>

It means 9,658 additional people are able to vote in this election as compared to 2018.<\/p>\n

Meantime,There’s been a whopping 51% increase in registered voters in St. Peter. ABEC says 4,609 people are registered to vote in St. Peter in this election.<\/p>
