POINTE XPRESS: Six young people were presented with the keys to their units at the newly erected Business Hub in Parham, the first of its kind in the St. Peter constituency.<\/p>

The presentations were made at the launch of the Business Hub on Saturday during a ceremony in which the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party\u2019s candidate for the constituency, Rawdon Turner, launched his 2023 Election Manifesto.<\/p>\n

Turner said the Business Hub will provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to grow and develop their businesses which will help them to become self-sufficient and independent.<\/p>

\u201cWe are providing an opportunity for them to learn and to develop as young people entering business. It\u2019s a case of learning to fish for yourself, not to depend on handouts.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cWhen you have the opportunity to work for yourself, it not only allows you to provide for yourself but, as your business expands and grows, you can provide employment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, therefore, would not all be seeking a job in the government sector,\u201d Turner said.<\/p>

The ABLP\u2019s St. Peter candidate said there is a need to grow the country\u2019s private sector and added that the Business Hub, manned by young people, is a step toward achieving this outcome.<\/p>\n
