LITTLE BAY, Montserrat (December 24, 2022) \u2013 The region\u2019s top female calypsonians are preparing to descend on Montserrat Carnival 2022 for the Queen of Queens Regional Female Calypso Competition slated for Friday, December 30 at Festival Village, Little Bay.<\/p>

There will be 10 women in the competition representing nine nations.<\/p>\n

Defending champion, Karene Asche of Trinidad & Tobago will have to battle the reigning calypso monarch of her nation Terri Lyons to retain the crown.<\/p>

Kenneth Silcott, Director of the Montserrat Arts Council said \u201cWe are looking forward to the regional female calypsonians visit to the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean. The Queen of Queens Competition brings together a vast pool of talent and experience from various Caribbean countries.\u201d<\/p>

Montserrat\u2019s only female calypso monarch, Silvina \u201cKhandie\u201d Malone is the lone female in the upcoming national finals on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She will then move on to represent Montserrat the following\u00a0night in\u00a0the all-female show.<\/p>\n

Other nations participating are\u00a0Anguilla \u2013 Roxanne \u201cRoxxy\u201d Webster,\u00a0\u00a0Antigua \u2013 Samantha \u201cSammie C\u201d Tahir, Barbados \u2013 Chrystal Beckles-Holder, BVI \u2013 Joycelyn \u201cSistah Joyce\u201d Searles, Dominica \u2013 Tasha \u201cTasha P\u201d Peltier, and\u00a0\u00a0St. Kitts \u2013 Karissia \u201cMiss Independent\u201d Willett.<\/p>
