The United Progressive Party\u2019s Candidate for St. George, Algernon \u201cSerpent\u201d Watts, says Antigua and Barbuda is in a bad state, with poverty being at an all-time high.<\/p>

The Browne Administration, he says, does not care about farmers and the contributions they make towards food security, and more could be done if the Minister of Agriculture had any interest in moving the sector forward.<\/p>

Watts points to several agencies on which the sector relies, including the Ministry responsible for lands and the Ministry responsible for the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA), saying they are guilty of killing agriculture.<\/p>\n

Not even the necessary commodity of water is being supplied to farmers on a daily basis, Watts says; and they, too, are at the mercy of the water-rationing schedule, which is not good for their business.<\/p>
