The Festivals Minister has announced a reduction in the number of finalists for the 2018 Party Monarch Competition.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Daryl Matthew announced recently that the number of finalists in the groovy and jumpy segment will be reduced from 10 to seven.<\/p>\n

He said this is being done because the prize monies for finalists is also being increased.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

“And that is being done to make the show a more financially attractive show to the artiste themselves,” Matthew said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He is hoping that the performers will produce higher quality as a result.<\/p>\n

“The artists who are out there and have good music will be able to benefit more,” the minister said.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The winner will get $50,000 up from $30,000. Cash for the first runner-up will also be increased to $40,000 and the second runner-up $30,000.<\/p>\n

“The financial\u00a0incentive is huge,” Matthew said, adding that the cost of meeting the prize monies will not be much more than what obtained in the past.<\/p>
