So, The (Legendary) British Conservative \u201cHerd\u201d Just Disgorged its 4th<\/sup>\u00a0Prime Minister in 6 Years?<\/p>\n

I must\u00a0 apologize\u00a0 most emphatically, to my readers for suggesting that Liz Truss,\u00a0 could lead her conservative Unionist\u00a0 to a defeat at the hands of the British Labour Party at the next General elections in 2025.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Instead of \u201climping\u201d to a defeat in 2 years, Liz Truss, lasted a very turbulent\u00a0 45 days in office\u2026<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

It is worth recalling\u00a0 that,\u00a0 the financial market,\u00a0 which rules the City of London while acquiescing\u00a0 fiscal and monetary policies, instructed Ms Truss,\u00a0 to drop\u00a0 her conservative make-belief policies, about unfunded\u00a0 tax-cuts for the rich. In strict obedience to the supreme\u00a0 majesty of market forces, Mis.\u00a0 Truss dropped her fiscal make-belief plans and\u00a0 fired her close friend and newly minted Finance Minister\u2026<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, confusion and political mayhem,\u00a0 took over the Commons\u00a0 during and immediately following the weekly Prime Minister\u2019s Question Time.<\/p>

Allegations ran wild,\u00a0 that the Parliamentary Whip, \u00a0used bullying and strong-arm tactics in \u201cman-handling\u201d conservative members into voting for the Government,\u00a0 on an opposition sponsored motion.<\/p>\n

By Thursday morning,\u00a0 An isolated\u00a0 PM Liz Truss,\u00a0 appeared on the steps of 10 Downing Street,\u00a0 to announce her resignation after 45 days in office\u2026<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

The UK\u00a0 Monarch certainly cannot change British governments, but the financial market and\u00a0 the City of London can.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

So, as the market turns and the conservative leadership trembles,\u00a0 some in the\u00a0 British Conservative Unionist Party,\u00a0 are reportedly plotting,\u00a0 to replace\u00a0 Liz Truss\u00a0 with her defeated rival, Sunak.<\/p>\n

Though popular at street-level, Sunak as British PM is\u00a0\u00a0 far from a certainty. There are several other possible\u00a0 candidates (including other\u00a0\u00a0 people of colour, with acceptable conservative credentials\u2026<\/p>\n

If Sunak or another market-friendly\u00a0 candidate of colour,\u00a0\u00a0 makes it\u00a0 into the winners enclosure, the indomitable\u00a0 financial markets\u00a0 will be entitled to its fare share of complements.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And, the British Conservative Unionist Party,\u00a0 will have pointed the way to more inclusive government at the level of Prime Minister\u2026<\/p>\n

Whether or not\u00a0 the\u00a0 British Labour party agrees, If a UK Government led by Sunak (or another market-friendly candidate) pleases the City of London, the Conservative could (yet) make it through the next general elections undefeated. They have a vast majority in the Commons and\u00a0 2 years is a very, very long time in politics.<\/p>\n

Of course, Boris Johnson\u2019s friends are calling for him to make a return.\u00a0 Comeback-kid? Or refurbished rocket?<\/p>\n
