The opening of a steel plant shed has become the first tangible outcome of the Yida Project since it was launched in 2015.<\/p>

On Monday, the company had a ceremony to celebrate this project, which is one of 19 expected to be constructed within its special economic zone.<\/p>\n

Cabinet members travelled to Coconut Hall Estate adjoining the Crabbes Peninsula and Guiana Island to witness the large factory shed, worth US $20 million dollars.<\/p>

The construction of a second factory shed to manufacture ceramic tiles is expected to begin shortly. According to the Cabinet notes it will be capable of producing 48,000 tiles per day.\u00a0\u00a0 Ash from the Montserrat volcano is one of the ingredients to be utilized in the process.<\/p>
