Queen\u2019s Counsel in Barbados.<\/p>\n<p>Two years later, she served as the island\u2019s second female Deputy Prime Minister and following the BLP\u2019s defeat in the 2008 election and Owen Arthur\u2019s resignation as party leader, Mottley was chosen as BLP party leader on January, 19, 2008.<\/p><div id=\"antig-962580924\" class=\"antig-content_2 antig-entity-placement\"><a Charles of Dominica, Janet Jagan of Guyana, Jamaica\u2019s Portia Simpson Miller and Kamla Persad Bissessar as women who have led governments in their respective countries.<\/p><div
