UPP Calls For Lower Fuel Prices In Line With Plummeting Global Oil Prices<\/p>

The Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) Harold Lovell, is calling for an immediate reduction in the price of gasoline and diesel, in line with plummeting global oil prices.<\/p>\n

Since the middle of June, oil prices have been on a consistent decline precipitating a sharp price drop below $100 USD per barrel on July 4th. Notably, the current global oil price has fallen more than $20 USD below what it was at the time of the ABLP\u2019s last price hike.<\/p>

“The Gaston Browne led ABLP Administration has been quick to respond to increases in the global oil price, with no attempt to cushion the impact on people and businesses. Now, after over two weeks of declining oil prices, the ABLP Administration has yet to reduce local fuel prices to a reasonable level,” Harold Lovell says. “The people need relief now – especially because no measures have been implemented to reduce their cost of living.”<\/p>

A similar call was issued by President Biden, in response to declining world oil prices. On July 2, 2022 Biden tweeted \u201cMy message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril. Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you\u2019re paying for the product. And do it now.\u201d<\/p>\n
