Antigua and Barbuda National Olympic Committee announces its team for the inaugural Caribbean Games to be held in Guadeloupe, 29th<\/sup>\u00a0June \u2013 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0July 2022. Antigua and Barbuda national athletes will compete in three sporting disciplines, namely, Athletics, Swimming and Cycling.<\/p>

The team will be headed by Chef de Mission, ABNOC 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0Vice President, Thomas Greenaway. Mr. Greenaway comes with a wealth of experience who recently completed a successful mission at the recently held Pan AM Junior Games, Columbia.<\/p>\n

The 8-member team comprises of the following athletes, officials and disciplines:<\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda will be represented in first GIGA\u2019GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES. The eSports competition which will run parallel Caribbean Games and will run from 29th<\/sup>\u00a0June to 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0July 2022.<\/p>\n

29 Caribbean Olympic Committees will be united around the largest Caribbean multi-sport event through 7 traditional sports disciplines, and for the first time an associated international E-Sport component associated with the GIGA\u2019GAMES CANOC ESPORTS SERIES Guadeloupe 2022, under the aegis of the Giga’Games Federation Guadeloupe of eSport and its international event.<\/p>\n

The eAthletes will compete in the following events:<\/p>\n

Glenmoore Fabian (Antigua Grammar School \u2013 16 yrs)<\/p>\n

Dimetre Leitch (Ottos Comprehensive School \u2013 16 yrs)<\/p>\n

Elijah James \u2013 Team Manager (Coach \u2013 Antigua and Barbuda eSports Club)<\/p>\n

Both eAthletes will be competing in the Master Disciplines<\/p>\n

Tekken (Martial Arts versus Sport)
\nWindJammers2 (Frisbee Sport)
\nForza Horizon 5 (Car Racing Sport)
\nJust Dance Unlimited (Health Sport)<\/p>\n

Antigua and Barbuda Esports is an initiative of the American Corner Antigua supported by the US Embassy Bridgetown that helps Antigua and Barbuda students (13 \u2013 17 years old) to explore emerging STEM\/STEM technologies while helping to improve their personal and professional development by installing values in leadership, business, cooperation, trust and shared decision making through ESPORTS.<\/p>\n
