Unconfirmed reports say that, at this morning\u2019s hearing, there was no representation from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), since matters at the High Court were given priority.<\/p>\n

As the Police are yet to lay charges related to the killing of Jane Finch \u2013 in whose Piccadilly home Jno-Baptiste was found following Finch\u2019s death \u2013 the young woman is on remand on a burglary charge.<\/p>

However, a senior lawyer was said to be on hand today, observing the proceedings in the interest of the Finch family, whose members reside in their native Canada.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

While conducting an evaluation of Jno Baptiste\u2019s mental capacity, in January, the Government\u2019s psychiatrist had asked the Court for another six months to monitor her and determine whether she is fit to stand trial for murder.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the 21-year-old is reportedly receiving treatment for mental issues at Her Majesty\u2019s Prison.<\/p>

Finch\u2019s relatives complain they have been left in the dark regarding the progress of the case and that inquiries directed to the Police Commissioner have not been acknowledged or answered.<\/p>\n

The lifeless body of Finch, 66, was found on her living room floor with what is reported to be a stab wound. The homicide occurred on the night of October 4, 2021, during the COVID-imposed curfew.<\/p>
