Antigua and Barbuda<\/strong> \u2013 <\/strong>Prime Minister Gaston Browne accepted an invitation from the Principal of the Glanvilles Secondary School, Rody Christopher, and the Head of the Agriculture Science Department, Denise Hodge, to tour the school plant and farm on Monday. Prime Minister Browne noted the much-needed upgrades and assured the school administration and teachers that they would be met. According to Cabinet notes, the proposed upgrades will be undertaken during the summer months.<\/p>

During the tour, PM Browne also met with Jaheim James, one of the recipients of the IICA Young Farmers Scholarships. He will be representing Antigua & Barbuda during the period of 1 July to 28 August 2022 in Barbados.<\/p>\n

Jaheim is a Private of the ABNCC paratus, and is active in and advocates backyard gardening. He was also active in the Ministry of Youth Affairs Tree Planting Initiative.<\/p>\n

Concluding the school tour, PM Browne thanked the teachers and auxiliary staff for their dedication, innovation, and commitment to their student.<\/p>

The cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda is planning to continue school meals during the summer holiday to the most vulnerable students whose needs have been assessed. Upgrades and maintenance of school plants and furniture will take place during the summer as is customary, utilizing the Education Levy operated by the Board of Education.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The country\u2019s leader visited the Glanvilles Secondary School on Monday to assess the situation with the school\u2019s administration; proposed upgrades will be undertaken during the summer months.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Cabinet invited several teams that are responsible for events production to appear before it. The industry professionals reported that during the time of COVID, their equipment remained unused and as a consequence have now failed by simply not being used.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The industry professionals also indicated that the same experience has caused other industry specialists in other Caribbean countries to have their sound systems fail, their generators fail, their electric lights and other sensitive equipment to fail because of non-use during COVID.<\/p>\n
