\"\" The Festival Commission announced over the weekend, the search for the next promising performer in Antigua & Barbuda.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Chairman Maurice Merchant said the initiative is called \u201cNext On Stage.\u201d He made the disclosure while addressing the start of the second annual Community Carnival in Piggots.<\/p>\n

\n

He reveled that performers will take to the stage as the community carnivals are held in various villages.<\/p>\n

According to Merchant, in the end, a winner will be selected and that individual will get to perform at the annual Melting Pot concert during Antigua\u2019s 60th carnival.<\/p>\n

Three individuals\/groups participated in the first leg of the competition in Piggots, singing a variety of Soca tunes.<\/p>\n

Community Carnival also saw performances by Claudette Peters, Menace, Zamoni, Janine and others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
