On Monday 30th May, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Trade of Antigua and Barbuda, the Honourable E. P. Chet Greene, welcomed Her Excellency Beate Stir\u00f8, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Antigua and Barbuda, after the formal presentation of her Letters of Credence to H.E. Sir Clare Roberts KCN QC, Governor-General\u2019s Deputy.<\/p>

 <\/p>\n

During the courtesy call, Minister Greene proposed initiatives to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Antigua and Barbuda and the Kingdom of Norway through education, research and development and people to people exchange particularly within the Blue Economy sector.<\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

 <\/p>

\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

He elaborated that these areas are of particular interest due to the number of regional multilateral engagements made by the Government of Norway, as well as their strident advocacy to combat climate change and the sustainable use of marine resources.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Stir\u00f8 in her remarks, commended the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, for its management of the Covid-19 pandemic and indicated that she looks forward to strengthening the partnership between both nations.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Stir\u00f8 also paid a courtesy call to the Honourable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, and other senior officials of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda during her visit.<\/p>

Antigua and Barbuda and the Kingdom of Norway established diplomatic relations on 14th October, 1985 and collaborated extensively during the 2019 \u2018Play it Out\u2019 concert, which helped to raise global awareness against plastic pollution.<\/p>\n
