The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is leading the search for a Cessna aircraft with three people on board reported missing on an internal flight from the Sangster International Airport in St James, northwest of here and the Tinson Pen Aerodrome in the capital, Kingston, on Thursday.<\/p>

The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) in a statement Friday, said that the Cessna 206F aircraft was last seen on radar at 4:36 pm (local time) , between Duncans and Clark\u2019s Town in Trelawny, a parish in northwest Jamaica.<\/p>\n

The search and rescue operations had to be curtailed on Thursday evening due to poor weather conditions and the JDF has since been spearheading the search for the aircraft with two pilots and a mechanic on board.<\/p>

The names of the occupants have not been disclosed. But the plane is owned by prominent businessman, Howard Levy, who was not aboard the aircraft.<\/p>

JDF Civil Military Cooperation and Media Affairs Officer, Major Basil Jarrett told The Gleaner newspaper Friday that the rescue effort has been intensified with the use of two helicopters alongside a search plane.<\/p>\n
