In recent months, gunmen in various regions of Mexico have targeted funerals and wakes as well as bars and clubs in their attempt to take out as many of their rivals at one time as they can.<\/p>

Forensic experts said all the victims in Las Tinajas \u2013 16 men and three women \u2013 had been killed by gunshots. A number of people have also been injured.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Witnesses said the gunmen opened fire indiscriminately before fleeing in various cars.\u00a0In a recording tweeted by local news site Red Michoac\u00e1n<\/a>, dozens of shots can be heard ringing out.<\/div>\n
