Amory served as Nevis\u2019 second Premier from 1992 to 2006. He was again elected to the position from 2013 to 2017.<\/p>

He was also an accomplished cricketer serving on the Leeward and combined Leeward and Windward Islands squads during the 1960s, 70s and 80s.<\/p>\n

Leading tribute to Amory was St Kitts and Nevis\u2019 Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris.<\/p>

\u201cI am very saddened by the passing of Ambassador Vance Amory, my reliable friend, mentor and advisor, illustrious founding\u00a0 member of\u00a0#TeamUnity<\/a>. My condolences are with his loving wife Vernita, his daughters, the rest of his family and wide circle of friends and well wishers. The people of\u00a0#stkittsandnevis<\/a>\u00a0have lost our Elder Statesman. May his soul find eternal peace,\u201d\u00a0 Harris said in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister, Shawn Richards, said\u00a0Amory will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to advance the Nevisian people.<\/p>

\u201cI shall always remember him for the role he played, along with myself as Leader of the People\u2019s Action Movement, PAM, and he as Leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement,CCM, jointly working with the Leader of the PLP, Dr Timothy Harris, to help fashion a government of national unity.<\/p>

\u201cVance Amory was a committed citizen and leader, whose legacy of achievements should inspire future and present generations. At this moment of sorrow our prayers and thoughts must be with the wife and family of our late colleague and former Premier of Nevis,\u201d Richards stated.<\/p>\n

Education and Sport Minister Jonel Powell commented: \u201cI am at a loss for words…RIP my brother.\u201d<\/p>\n
