Last week nurses at Charmay\u2019s Nursing Home were treated to special lunches and desserts courtesy of the management team of Sandals Grande Antigua, as the resort continues to recognize the efforts of healthcare professionals across the country for the work they continue to do for the patients trusted in their care.<\/p>

In addition to treating the nurses to lunch, 100 towels were donated to residents at the home.<\/p>\n

Owner of the nursing home Leslie-Ann Yearwood said, \u201cI am extremely grateful and humbled that Sandals thought of this gesture of appreciation to us. The items donated to the residents will be of great help to our linen inventory and the lunches provided to my staff truly mean a lot. I know my team works extremely hard and for them to be recognized and appreciated in this way, really inspires us to continue doing what we do for our residents at the home and their families.\u201d<\/p>

How it can light up their day and make them feel special. Our healthcare workers have been working tirelessly, especially since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and being here today to surprise them is heartwarming and encouraging,\u201d Assistant Weddings Manager Meria Govia added.<\/p>\n

Sandals General Manager Matthew Cornall said, \u201cAs a company, we continue to support our communities, and this is an opportunity to let our health care professionals know that their work has not gone unnoticed. Since the start of the pandemic, Sandals and Beaches Resorts across the chain have recognized healthcare workers by gifting them complimentary weekend stays at any Sandals or Beaches property of their choice. Here in Antigua and Barbuda over 20 complimentary stays were granted to medical professionals on the frontlines of the pandemic within the healthcare system. The medical team at Sandals was also recently recognized for outstanding work and commitment to the profession.<\/p>\n
