The Summit, being chaired by H.E. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, H.E. Ohood Bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and Future and H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, will see Prime Minister Browne participating in the Global Energy Forum where he will lead discussions on\u00a0Our Rising Blue Waters: Government Combatting Climate Change.\u00a0\u00a0<\/i>The discussion will also include The Hon. Wayel Ramkalawan, President of Seychelles and His Excellency Faisal Naseem, Vice President of Maldives.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Browne stated that he is looking forward to participating in the Forum as it is of vital importance that the message of small developing states is heard.\u00a0 \u201cWith the last seven years being the warmest on record, coupled with the rapid increase of extreme weather events, the impact of climate change is more visible than ever before,\u201d he stated.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>

He noted that the world\u2019s landmasses are projected to sink in a matter of decades, posing an existential threat to the world\u2019s lowest-lying countries today. \u201cIsland states are on the frontlines of climate change, where the effects of rising temperatures and sea levels demand innovative climate action,\u2019 Prime Minister Browne remarked.<\/u><\/u><\/p>
